What are the Pastures' times?

The morning session runs from 8.00am to 12.50 am.
The afternoon session runs from 1.00 to 6.00 pm.

Your child can be dropped off and collected anytime within their session times. However collection during meal times can be disruptive. Meal times are 11.45am to 12.15pm and 4.00 - 4.30pm.

If you require your child to have breakfast please ensure they arrive before 8.45am.

How do I pay for sessions?

Please refer to application form.

Who can bring and/or collect my child?

In the interest of child safety, we need to know if someone other than you will be collecting your child. The person must be at least 14 years old. Children will not be allowed to be taken unless by prior arrangement, or in an emergency by telephone. Please write the name(s) of anyone who will regularly collect your child on the admission form.

What do I do when I arrive at Pastures with my child?

On arrival, your child should collect their photo/name card and then choose a peg and place the card on the Velcro above. A member of staff will greet you. Please pass on any relevant information to them.

What is the best way of ensuring my child settles?

Prior to your child's start date, your child's keyworker will contact you (he/she may already have done so) to arrange an induction visit. This is an opportunity for us to get to know your child and for you to share any relevant information with your child's keyworker. Following the induction two visits will be made for your child to get to know the Pastures environment. This will include you spending some time in Pastures with your child, as well as leaving them for short periods to become accustomed to his/her carers. If you feel your child requires further visits, payment will be expected.

If your child will attend the setting for full days we would advise that on their first couple of days they have a shorter day i.e. go home between 4.00pm and 5.00pm, rather than 6.00pm but please speak to your key worker.

For the benefit of your child, unless there are exceptional circumstances, a minimum of one term's attendance is required in Pastures if you intend for your child to move to Meadows after their 3rd birthday. We also recommend a minimum of 2 sessions per week.

If you have any questions or concerns please ask as this will ensure a smooth transition into the setting.

What do I need to bring?

  • Bottles of formula milk/breast milk
  • Named spare set of clothes
  • Nappies and wipes
  • Wellies, sun hat or coat, according to season
